My 20 second review of U2's All That You Can't Leave Behind. (Okay so count slowly).

Now that I have my required play it until it is gets old. Of ocurse with the boys, it never gets old, maybe just disturbing. It sounds great, absolutely fantastic. The melodies are fucking awesome. And Elevation has a great beat..you can actually dance to it. Grin. Imagine being able to dance to a U2 song...heh heh. While the melody has been developed and perfected. The lyrics?? Alot of throw away lines, trite fragments, a little too preachy? It seems they concentrated on the melody and let Bono alone with the lyrics. Okay whose bright idea was that? I love the man...but apparently he's got other things on his mind. Where is the brillance of Achtung Baby and Zooropa, the sarcasm and earnest eagerness of Joshua Tree? Shall I list them?

Trite:
Grace, it's the name for a girl
It's also a thought that changed the world

Most of Peace on Earth I realise it's satire, but trite and heavy handed nonetheless.

He lives on a star that's dying in the night
And follows in the trail, the scatter of night

Sigh. Throw away...well there's a lot. I let Q take that if she chooses to blog more that once a week.

Ah well it just proves to Q and I that they still need an infusion of fresh young blood. Although I do like the fact that Bono admits he's a monkey. Elevation not just a great toe tapper, but the obligatory oral sex ladden song.
