Okay enter here: my madness. We all know, or rather my mates know, that I have a weakness for all things vampiric...ever since I cracked my first Anne Rice book. Well, since Buffy, now matter how trite the how sometimes is, all about vampires, I am mad for it. That intro finished: let me delve into this craziness.

Last weeks episode, we find from an ugly eyeball covered ball that the First is attacking now because of The Slayer. Everybody in the Buffy-verse and in this universe seem to think that this means Buffy. But people forget that she's not The Slayer. She died, twice, that means at least she's a slayer, but not the slayer or The Slayer. The Slayer is Faith. Sure she has the power of a slayer, but she is no longer the chosen one...Faith is. She is just doing her duty cause that's what she's supposed to do...and well Faith is in prison so she really can't battle the evil things that creep around. That sounds like wekaness to me. If Buffy dies oh well...the world is screwed because new slayer isn't called and The Slayer is still rotting in prison. Perhaps when Buffy died...the First realised this weakness...it also may have taken him a year or so to catch on (perhaps where he lives time runs differently) or it just took that long for the First to prepare.

We all know Joss is a crafty fellow. And the obvious isn't always the answer.
