My thoughts and prayers go out to the families, friends, and co-workers of the seven brave astronauts that perished this morning over the skies of Texas. May god shed his grace on thee.

I also pray that our space programme will learn from this tragedy and continue with it's mission and goals.

I turned on the TV just as the news reported the tragedy and I called my mom cause I knew she would be devasted. I've been watching the news constantly since. Like everyone else, I am reminded of the Challenger. I was only 9 then, but we watched the launch and of course the subsequent explosion live in our school library...and that moment was branded into my brain. Now, the Columbia's falling star will forever me ingrained in my memory.

Again, my heart goes out to those who know and love those brave astonauts. I can only pray that their passing was quick and painless.
