I always knew this to be true. I'm only having joking. Actually, I very nearly became a brain surgeon/researcher. And the field still fascinates me. This article is particilarily insteresting. And it poses to me this question: Why do women listen using both sides of the brain and men the left hemisphere? And folks you'll get the answer, or my answer at any rate, here and now.

If you read the article (it's supposed to open a new window for your reference), it explains the the portion of the left brain they are talking about is thought to be associated with listening to language while the right is associated with the creative tasks (performing music and understanding spatial relationships). Now I am going to use generalities here and use myself as a bit of a guinea pig. When listening the data suggests that the male is focused and concentrated on listening to what ever is being spoken. On the other hand, females are not only listening, but reasoning it all out as the language is spoken. In a sense they are building a place to store this info while it's being processed fitting into their world, relating to it, perhaps even solving a question what the langugage may be posing. Gals, we all know when listeing to someone's problem most likely we are at the same time devising a way to solve their dilema.

I heard this tid bit on CNN Headline News..caught a bit where the newser reported that it seems women have to think harder when they listen. I wanted to get the whole story before I ranted what a stupid comment THAT was. But now I won't because I proved my case already.
