On the subject of Vegemite, a throughly heinous food product, I remeber other australian imports from beloved M. namely Violet Crumbles. A candy bar beyond description, it tasted sooo good. While I was living in Austin, M. sent me a care package of Violet Crumbles and Vegemite (I had never had and wanted to try) loved the crumbles hated the vegemite. Like I commented elsewhere, I suppose Vegemite is something you have to be raised on--developing that poker face while you're chewing (on toast) on the awful stuff.

Now my local grocer carries boxes of Violet Crumbles (pity though now that I am preggers I no longer crave chocolate)--haven't tried looking for the vegemite though. Grin.

No that's a lie, I crave chocolate in the form of fudgesicles...every other day or so. But nowhere near the chocolate I craved and consumed before. Now I crave grapes and butterscotch pudding.
