My mother knits. Knitting is her heroine. She knits everywhere and anywhere. She's been knitting so long in fact, she no longer needs light to. knit. She knits in movie theatres. She knits at work while she's telling a dimwitted client how to properly log onto his online bank account. And of course there's knitting while watching the telly and while in the passenger seat.

I don't knit. My mother has tried for years to teach me to knit--I never could GET it. All I really can do with yarn, besides making knots, is crocheting a chain...which is not even knitting. Now, with knitting becoming chic (and with alot of really COOL patterns available, before there was 60's and 50's crap), I am thinking about asking my mom to once again try to teach me to knit.

On the other hand...I don't want to submit to the "cool thing." I prefer doing things that not everyone else does. Sure not EVERYONE knits, but it's in the media now so of course it's borderline distasteful. And blogging doesn't count, because I live among technoweenies that can't properly turn on a computer.
