I may have blogged this before...but hey it bears repeating. Texas school children now must reciete the pledge of alliegence to the United States Flag, then a pledge to the Texas flag...then a minute of silence. And I am so glad I am home schooling my child and I am exempt.

I think it is wrong to receite a pledge to two different flags. You can pledge to one but not the other...it defies logic. And of course with a parental note (because kids have no rights of their own) can abstain with out fear of wrath...from teachers...but that won't cover students that ridicule this "weird" student who isn't a patrotic automaton.

But that is what public school is all about is it not...creating patrotic automatons. And I am serious ask any public school official and they'll tell you in a few more words than this, "we are creating patrotic automatons."
