Back from vacation
Hello, we got back on Wednesday night from Virginia...to a sweltering house. Apparently a few days before our A/C unit broke down. We only had a few hours on thursday to get price quotes...which we couldn't get cause they don't sell them in shops you have to call A/C repair guys. J. had to go back to work on Friday....so Mic and I are left in a hot house. Right now I am at my mom's cause despite the frustrations it is cooler.
I am NO GOOD in the heat. Never mind I am very pregnant...it makes it ten times worse. Poor Mic looks like he's taking a constant shower and I park in front of a box fan. Mom thinks our vacations are cursed...last year it was the "Flood"....but the first year it was fine. I just think it's Murphy's law...you have a baby and plan on spending lot's for that...ehy let's throw in a wrench a kill you AC a month before you're due!!
Well, vacation was great!! Just the thing we needed. We spend the first few days at the in-laws lake house. Ah, I have never had a better nights sleep. That place is in the booneys. Then we spend the middle portion in Waynesboro...met up with the extended family...then we spent the last two days back at the lake. Mic had so much fun playing with his cousins. And he proved he will be a great big brother. He spent alot of time with his cousin Ivy who is a year younger and they got along great.
Now, this vacation happened to coincide with Mic's new craving from independence. So he wasn't a model child...he had lot's of fun challenging his "Pappa." And he freaked out at resturants when we had him in high chairs..."don't you understand, I am a big boy now???" And it was hard cause he had no timeout/calm down place. Typically for punishments we put him in a place he can be corralled in (within view of us), just alone for a couple of minutes. On vacation that was impossible. J. was very embarrassed by Mic's behavior...it is his parents after all. But Mic is two and asserting his independce its a new challenge in our roles as parents.
But all in all vacation was just want the doctor ordered and every one had lot's of fun. And despite Mic's challenging of "Pappa", Mic loved being around grandpa and missed him a lot when we left.
