Of popcorn balls and cookies

Well Michael is certainly behaving like a child high on sugar. My goodness the child's a monkey! For the first time we all went as a family trick or treating (previous two years Jamey has had to work). Micci was of course the Great Pumpkin to J.'s CHarlie Brown (don't worry piccies are forthcoming) and Lorelei and I were pumpkins also...she slept through most of trick or treating. Threee things we need to work on for next year: saying "trick or treat" (but Mic does a very good job at saying thank you and bye!!), knocking on the door and waiting for people to open their doors, and lastly not going into their house and looking around. Thankfully every one was very understanding.

I think Mic loves the thrill of being scared. He tried to go throught he haunted house twice. I had to prod J. into taking him through (I am much too big of a chicken) but J. wouldn't take him through again...he's afraid that he'll get too scared. (Not sure who he is exactly...smirk). He also insisted on watching Child's Play...again. He loves Chucky. But thankfully he got bored before the rampant doll killing began.

I was over my mom's house on Saturday and I made sugar cookies in Halloween shapes....was going to ice them on Halloween. Lorelei was being too fussy for me to decorate them on Saturday. And when we went over again on Hallowen (we go trick or treating in my mom's neighboorhood every year) Lorelei was fussy again...only I could hold her and soothe her I guess)...so I never was able to decorate, but I did squeeze in making popcorn balls.

Sigh, I also never managed to carve the pumpkins this year...one of my favourite parts of the holiday. I hope that next year and the following won't be so chaotic. Although I might carve them tonight...for my own private amusement.
