Muffintasic

Mic wanted muffins for lunch today. At first I explained, "We don't have any muffins How about a sandwich." Mic was resolute, "I want muffins." I thought about it for a bit, well duh, I could make some. And it's not everyday Mic actually offers up want he wants to eat. So I looked up the recipe in my old battered Better Crocker book (it's an old edition where it explains that to be a good wife you need to know how to cook your man's eggs). I found a basic Sweet Muffin recipe and it even suggested to was so easy you're 5 year old could help you.

Well I don't have a five year old, but Mic seemed willing to help. He was so excited. He helped me measure and mix and put the paper liners in the muffin tins. And he sat in front of the oven window and watched them bake. He was fascinated by them growing right before his eyes.

And my do they taste fantastic. We added a couple dashes of cinnamon (not in the recipe) and I served mine up hot with butter on the two halves. Oh they are heaven. I think Mic has had three and Lore had two.

Now this is what I call food porn.
