Ringing in the New Year

It's after 9.30 and the fireworks have been popping since 6.30 pm. Luckily it's rained a lot this week so I am not afraid of them catching my roof on fire.

The kids are asleep and I hope will stay that way. I want to enjoy the New Year's coming quietly. J. should be home soon...in about an hour or so. We'll probably just watch the TV or something and look up five minutes after midnight and go, "Oh look it's 2007. Happy New Year."

I am a bit scared what the new year is going to bring--after the year we've had. I just try to hope it will be better. A big part of that depends on me. I am the one that has to be strong.

I need to get organised. I need to pick my self up. I need to be strong.
