Hairy Issues

It's not a big suprise that I have hair issues--Repunzel-esque hair issues.

Like a good girl I blame my mom--LOL--she cut it during a fragile time in my young life and it "forever dominated my destiny." (And I am not talking a trim--I a talking about beautiful, glossy, thick, wavy hair midway down her back CHOPPED into a boy hair cut. As soon as I found out I was pregnant with Mic I stopped cutting my ear length hair and by the time Lorelei was 8 month gestation my uncut hair was nearly to my bum. (I cut it for Locks Of Love--but only to my shoulders) Now is alwasy a few inches past my shoulders...give or take a few inches.

Lorelei started out with no hair. I was fiercely jealous of babies and toddlers with more hair than Lorelei (esp. Heather's daughter--just NOT FAIR!!!) Only at 2 did she have enough to pull back into weenie, mullet pig tails. These past few months her hair was long and substantial enough to pull back into ONE pony tail and her bangs were nearly long enough to blend in with her hair.

Then a few weeks ago she started trimming her own hair--at first no big deal...no one could see the damage...I hid the scissors. Crafty, sneaky girl, not to mention persistent, finally chopped huge swaths of hair off. I finally had to admit defeat and cut her hair to just above her shoulders...SIGH. I was devasted.

BUT she was NOT done...a day or so after the in laws left she cut more hair and HER BANGS. I can barely look at her with out cringing. She looks like some sort of street urchin. I think she hates me.

I am also convinced she is 3 going on 13.
