It Still Hurts

It's so aggravating losing a hard drive. Sure I don't have access to pictures and what not--but all of my Favourites (bookmarks). Poof! Since my brain IS swiss cheese, I depend on that list to remind me of all the blogs I like to keep track of. (Yeah, I haven't gotten the hang of blog lines or what ever). There was one blog of a knitter who worked for a Dictionary--how cool is that.

I was reminded of it when I asked Jamey were in the hell the word business came from. WHY is the "u" pronounced like an "i"--it makes no sense--were did this word come from!!

I love the internet. Busy is Germanic in origin--root word is besig. And the spelling changed in the 15th century. Yep, I am a word geek.

More word geekiness: Lawyer and Attorney are NOT interchangable. Did you know you don't have to graduate law school to be an attorney? All you need is to have passed the Bar exam. A lawywer must graduate from Law School but isn't necessarily an attorney.
