Should I be surprised?

Sure this upsets me, but it really doesn't surprise me. A county in Tennessee is seeking to ban homosexuals from living within it's county borders...not to mention making it a crime to be gay. Sigh.

Obviously this should be fought and defeated, but really does any homosexual really want to live in such a place where a law like that can be passed?

Why does the government seek to put it's nose in our bedroom. They feel free to attack homosexuality and seek to outlaw and persecute, but not adultery. They thump the bible, yet they do nothing against adultery which is blatantly forbidden many times in the bible (whereas homosexuality is only hinted at being a bad thing once or twice). If Bush is a real moralist he would ban adulterers from marrying also. Oh right...the majority of our law makers most likely have committed this sin...a ten commandment sin (there's no mention in the ten commandment: though shall not be gay.)

I just love these double standards.

Course what is really lovely...on the poll to the right of the story...46% of those polled thinks that county is in the right.
