Challenger Remembered

It's weird that it's been 20 years since the space shuttle Challenger exploded while my whole 3rd grade class watched it live on TV. I think most of America's children watched it live that day. I remember that morning clear as a bell. And it still fills me with immense and profound sadness. I remember being utterly shocked and feeling totally numb. I remember girls crying.

That was my first national catastrophe in my memory...my generation's "Where were you when such and such happened." Innocence lost indeed.
