Knitting Wiles

I am halfway done knitting the front of Mic's Aran sweater. I am planning on knitting the sleeves at the same time so I can get them knocked out. I am getting a bit tired with the three cables I am woking with.

And because the cables are getting tedious and because I have no idea how long it'll actually be cool here...I am also working on Lorelei's hat and cardigan set I am designing to go with the dolly dress/hat I made for her for Christmas. The hat is half way done...and the sweater is fully formed...in my head. I knew once I started that Aran, I'd get on a sweater kick. I am still planning on making Lore a matching Aran with sportwright yarn (since the pattern only goes down to size 4). It'll be for next winter like Micci's and oooh the pictures I can take with my two little sweeties in matching sweaters! Coo fits only a mother can have!

Hopefully Lore will have hair next year.

This beautiful antique baby bonnet is absolutely magnificent. They say it's from the pre-civil war era. What they don't say and what I think it is (my mom agrees): It's a piece mostly likely knitted by a man for the knitting guild, as a mastery project. Because honey child, no woman would ever spend that amount of time on a bonnet with beading for a baby. And not many women had the time to go into such work...when she had a baby. And notice...no baby stains...no tears from baby going nuts because you dared to put a hat on its head.

Anyway, I do want to figure out the lace pattern done for sides of the hat...that's really pretty. I'd give my right hand for Barbara Walker's whole treasury collection...

On the house front: it is shaping up...the living room is LIVEABLE!!! Now I need to finish up the kitchen and hall ways. I shirked yesterday because it was so cold...but I got a lot of knitting done and that is ALWAYS good.
