In my dreams

Now this scarf from I'm Knitting As Fast As I Can--ya gotta scroll down to the 6th for the accompanying post--is the sort of thing I want to learn how to design. I need to learn short row shaping...among other things.

I am on this HUGE lace kick right now...I am practically dreaming in lace. I am thinking (warning knitting bunny approaches) of knitting a lace hat with a ruffled brim for Lorelei. Just gotta figure out how to incorporate the decreases in the lace.
