Birthday Insanity

Yesterday was Lorelei's second birthday and we invited a bunch of friends to help us celebrate. It was so much fun....and Lorelei made out like a bandit. I can't find my camera so we used Jamey's camera--pictures will be a few days in coming.

Getting ready for the party was exhausting. We still had ALOT to clean in the house and had to make the baked beans and decorate the cake. The cake took MUCH longer than I thought it would. We were running seriously behind...but so was everyone else! I have never before been so happy to have everyone nearly 2 hours late!!! It gave us the time to finish cleaning and the time for the beans to finish cooking. Everything worked out perfectly!

AND my house is CLEAN!!!! All I have now is a few boxes I stashed away to empty and find places for.

Everyone had a good time and enjoyed the food...particularily Jamey's Hamburgers and my homemade Boston Baked Beans (yea me!!). I had wanted to videotape her party---but I got so busy. Lorelei squealed each time she opened a gift--it was so sweet. She may look nothing like me but she is truly my daughter--hearing teeny voice saying "Awesome!" was awesome! She got tons of dress up things from her grandparents and some really cute outfits. She opened Care Bears and dollies and blankets (her favourite) from family and friends. She finally got her backpack from Kittenhead and Mic got her a Dora place setting. And I found her the perfect little doll bed for her dollies. To cap it off she got a really sweet Dora table and chair set...perfect for tea parties.

After trying to keep the kids away from the cake all day we finally got into it after we opened gifts...Lorelei although did NOT appreciate the fire on her candles and freaked out...so in the pic of her blowing out candles there's tears running down her face.

I still can't believe Lorelei is now 2 years old...my wee little baby is a big girl.
