Remberances

I wanted to do something special today. But nothing I came up with seemed appropriate. Being raised Mormon, lighting a candle just seems out of place. I want to do something that remembers the people on those planes and I want to make today mean more than they're deaths...mean that we can not fall asleep in the comfort of our freedom again. We can't take for granted that we are safe. We can't take ofr granted our liberties will always be here for us...because people do want to take them away. And sadly many have been taken away so that terrorists can't take them away first.

I want this day to mean something to my kids.

But I doubt they will understand what sort of care free world we lived in before 9/11. I don't think we even remember what is like not to fear "Breaking News" reports on TV. Beyond the extra security at airports, but the distrust that fills our hearts when we look upon other people--especially those of middle eastern descent.

I hate the terrorists not for the 3 thousand men, women and children they killed, but for the hope/trust that they stole from millions of people.
