Flies in Time

Happy February! It's amazing how fast January flew by.

I've been in a pissy mood since Wednesday...most of it was due to being twitchy from the caffeine overdose, and Thursday--not sure why but I just about bit Jamey's head clean off a few times. I haven't even been able to thoroughly detail the wondrous experience that was me viewing U2 3D.

We did spend the day yesterday with our friends, T&R helping them with their taxes and buying stuff at Target. I didn't descend back into my pissy mood until we got home. We had a lovely time with our friends and then we had a lovely dinner after we left them at Zio's. I am not sure where the pissiness came from but I am inclined to blame hormones and the remnants of caffeine still in my system.

One of the things we bought-bsides DVDs and hoodies, and hair accessories on clearance was a fanastic book that I just finished reading, Kabul Beauty School, by Deborah Rodriguez.

It's a fantastic book details the authors attempt to help Afghan women regain their freedom through earning their own money and skills. It's a devasting look into a culture that has been shattered by decades of war, full of tragedy, mistrust, hope, and despair. I seem to be drawn to these sort of books...Lipstick Jihad is another book about women in another shattered culture, Iran. Once again I feel so utterly blessed to live in America and amazed at my good fortune to be a free woman.

Micci is counting down to his birthday and even asked the other day if we could bump it up a few days like, um TODAY! He'll be six and I have no idea how my little infant is now a big boy of almost six.
