Swords Should Make a Comeback

Why does the sword still deserve a place in modern times?

Because swords are just so damn cool!! And they are multifunctional: not just for maiming or killing, but you can cut back the weeds, use it sheathed as a door stop, it's also a useful pointer. Be creative! it's got a thousand uses.
