I am burnt. A nice shade of lobster red...in odd patches all over my body. Ahhh, summer is here!

I went to Lake Buchanan again with Q for the 4th of July Holiday. I floated for a few hours and then went sailing for 30 minutes. (WHAT A GLORIOUS 30 minutes...there is nothing like sailing....it's divine.) Even though I applied SPF 40 TWICE...I am still toast. Ouch. Aloe Vera is my very best friend at the moment. Clothes have never seemed so disagreeable than at this very moment. Other than the burn...I had fun...great fun...food, water, sailing...fireworks, canna complain.

Last night for the very first time in my 22 odd years I held a sparkler...lit some too. Now you must understand the intense fearof fireworks (and esp. sparklers) me mum instilled in me. To her holding a sparkler meant certain disfigurement. Never were the chikdren allowed to stand with in 10 feet of any sparkler, firework..or anything that produced hot sparkling flame. Every year, on July 5th....she would point out all the newspaper articles and news programmes that mentioned a child burning a limb off the previous night....so this was somewhat of a thrill.

Sailing: I am now inspired to learn how...someday. It was fantastic!! THe beauty, elgance, and oneness with the wind, sea, and sun. It's amazing, every sailor I have met (and I mean sailor as in being on a boat with actual SAILS) has this wonderful relationship with the sea and wind. It's magical. And me beign a lover of wind...sailing is right up my alley. Oh it was wonderus...the peace and smoothness...and grace in which we zipped about the lake. I'll never forget it. And I'll crave it every day hereafter.
