All gone

Jupiter Records is gone. Sigh. Phisto called me this afternoon from Austin to give me the news. It opened in 1998 or beginning of 1999. And I spent more time there than at home and spent all of my extra money there. I loved that place.

They sold used records, used cds, new cd's and great vintage box sets. The owners were really sweet and really hot. And I probably spent most of my time there because of one of the owners. But it was there that I learned to love Bob Dylan. I got exposed to really awesome music.

When the economy went south few years back I immediately though about that record store. They sold luxury items, low priced luxury...but still an extra expense that when it came down to it you had to buy your food or pay your rent before you bought that great CD.

I moved from Austin, but always went by the store when I was able to come back up. It was always one of the places I stopped by. I am really really going to miss it.
