I want a hybrid

Is there some engineering impossiblity why hybrid vehicles can't hold more than 5 people. Can't that nifty, efficient engine pull 7 people and a cartful of groceries around town? I've not looking for off roading...just take me and my hoard around town in a fuel efficient manner.

We'd buy a Prius in a second if it just held two more seats. Can't they just extend the frame a few more feet? Is it that expensive to engineer a whole new body that could work with a hybrid engine? Can't environmentally conciense families of 5 or more own an environmentally conscious vehicle

As any parent of three children knows...you can't have a 5 passenger car without three dead children in the back seat after a long car trip...they'd bloody kill each other!
