Freedom

Exactly what is freedom/rights in the United States? And who does it apply to?

This is an interesting article about how a family was "terrorized" by anti-abortionist holding up graphic posters and yelling foulness outside their home. It of course their right of free speech and freedom to assemble that allowed them to terrorise a family with an infant (wrong house). What of the right of the "victims" to not have to hear or see or have their names slandered. The article never said if the family could leave to get away from the foulness...but what about slander? Or the right of the neighboorhood not to have their children see such distrubing pictures?

It always seems that the rights of the perpetuator is always more important than the rights of the victim. Is it right that the rights of the individual out weight the rights of the many? Where do you draw the line? When are my rights infringing on someone elses rights? And how to decide that?

It seems in the UK they know where to draw the line. No terrorising people for doing nothign illegal--makes sense to me.

Just something to think about.
