Zoo-our summer destination

We took Mic and Lorelei to the zoo yesterday. Lorelei was unfazed by the whole thing, but Micci had a blast. Most of the larger animals were sleeping and since the fish never sleep...Mic had a fun time looking at the different sorts of fish. He especially liked the Finding Nemo tank, with Dory, Nemo, and the Dad, Whathisname. He could name most of the animals which was cool for me...I was homeschooling! Since Mic knows all his colours and shapes and is beginning to count...I guess I have been homeschooling this entire time!

Back to the zoo...they hand a little petting zoo which Mic got a kick out of and this GREAT playground with some fantastic slides. I think they were greased. I never saw Mic run so fast from the bottom of the slide back up to the stairs. They also had a special part of the zoo for kids under 5. That was neat...they have a play room set up like the back offices of the zoo, where you can pretend to care for sick animals, sell tickets, work on the maintaince and a bunch of other stuff. They even had a playroom set up like the underground where the kids could pretend to be Praire Dogs and watch real praire dogs at play.

So, we got memberships so we can go all year round without paying any more. We are even considering adopting an animal in Micci's name. We haven't decided which one yet. Well I know we ARE NOT adopting a Hippo...that's $2000...a year.

We also went to see Robots. Mic really liked it...and the adults enjoyed themselves as well.

We finally got the Hollie Hobby cake pan we bought on e-bay for R. I presented it to her last night and she nearly died. Seriously she was having fits she was so excited. I love giving gifts that people realy love...it's such a high.
