Busy Busy Girl
Lorelei had her 15 month check up on Thursday...spent hours there because the Doc wanted to make sure the enormous bump on herbhead (the one she got when she fell off the dinner room chair) didn't come with an accompanying skull fracture. So on top of 4 shots her miserable morning was topped off with being held down for an x-ray. We haven't been home long enough since then for the doc to call us with the results.
We had left the "men" at home for the appointment, so we picked them out so we could meet T & R with M for a late chistmas gift exchange and game night. Game night ended up lasting well into the night and we decided just to spend the night. The next day we planned an impromtu bar-b-q and ate ourselves silly in this weirdly warm January.
While, the ladies worked hard cooking sides and men were in charge of grilling the meat...which really meant throw meat on the flame and play football while loosely keeping an eye on the food. Poor J hurt his back, because like a man he has to go all our during a game of catch.
We got back home, Friday night and since then (today is Sunday) Jamey has been limping around like an old man. He was in bed all day yesterday and finally made it to the couch today. And today is the last day of his vacation. Hopefully, the bengay I bought him will help when he goes back to work.
And I MADE IT OUT OF THE HOUSE ALL BY MY SELF!! I was finally about to make it to a knitting group Saturday at our local library. No kids for 2 hours of uninterrupted knitting and chatting. I paused about two seconds when Jamey was in bed with his sore back, but nothing was going to stop me from getting out of the house for a change. I am not sure how many more of these meetings I'll be able to go to...J's schedule is wacky and everchanging. Damned if I was going to let one of the few Saturdays Jamey actually has off go with out using it up.
Tomorrow. Is a new day and I am actually considering taking down the Christmas tree and it's accompanying decorations. Mostly, I am going to clean the kitchen and bathroom. And clean the living room enough so I can vacuum. I am also continue my decent into the halls of hell...taking TV time away from Micci. Right now the bugger somehow badgered us into letting him watch his shows fromthe time he gets up to the moment he falls asleep. Disgusted with ourselves we are cutting him to two to three...which is even lower than the 8 hours a day he had before. Yes, I am a bad parent. So I am putting us on a schedule--so I can get my chores done and have time for my knitting AND for occupying Mic so he doesn't miss his TV.
