Suprising Sunday

Today has been interesting. It's colder than an iceman's tit, so we have been sitting curled up knitting, reading and watching Curling which always suprises me is a sport an Olymic Sport even. All I could think while watching these men sweep that ice with such ferocity was "My God they must have the cleanest floors at home." Suprisingly Curling is also addictive...

I am saying WE because J is home today even though he's Deli is doing inventory. It being very very cold and did I mention WET? It's very icy. And he spun out driving to work at 5 am whilst on a bridge not to far from the house and crashed the car into a speed limit sign. Being suprised is the theme today: that wee pole did major damage: smashed the rear windshield, killed the tire, broke the hubcap, cracked the door, rear side panel, and top panel right next to the window. It was so early and cold and dark, Jamey just came home without the car (a kind stranger gave him a lift) and intended to come back in a few hours once it was light enough for him to see and warm enough to be able to move his fingers. Sometime between the accident and when Jamey walked back to the scene, some one crashed into the car. No note of course. I am hoping Karma will get him in the end. So now we also have a smashed up door on the other side of the car...and another deductible.

To top it off--tomorrow is a holiday and I doubt we will hear back from our adjustor until Tuesday or even the repair shop. Although I might call them tomorrow about a rental car, because I am afraid to drive it even when the rear window gets fixed (which THEY are coming by tomorrow morning to fix). Sure J drove it a short distance home, but I don't trust that more damage wasn't done that we can not see and I don't want to risk driving it across town to where J works.

I stayed up late last night working on my new knitting bag. It's coming along nicely, NOT exactly the magnificence I imagined in my head...less elegant and more crafty in reality. But it is cute. Better than that sad small stained undecorated canvas bag I have been carrying around. So that was suprising...haha! I am not the master of craft I thought I was.

A friend lent me Memoirs of a Geisha...I am loving the book, but it's so tragic at times, I am not sure I can stand watching it at the movies. I really did want to see it, now I am not so sure.

It's been a pleasant day which is suprising, because it started out so poorly.
