Spring Time?
I have found SPRING!!! And it's fucking cold! We're in D.C., and I figured, while packing, it's mid-May--I'll just pack one long sleeve shirt each...don't need coats or sweaters. How wrong I was. Today the high is 75...the highest it's been all week. Mostly it's high 50's, low 60s...with a chilly breeze.
Most of the thime I am freezing...I am used to 100 degree afternoons.
Anyway...I borrowed and will take home a cute red zipped hoodie jacket from my mom. So the trip so far:
The trip to D.C. was great...they let J. go the the gate with us. But Lorelei set off the metal detector and had to be screened. Advice: Don't put kids in overalls with metal clasps when you fly...no matter how cute it is. The two hours we waited for the plane was okay--Mic kept himself amused by watching theplanes out the window and eating tons of lollipops. Mic loved take off...and Lorelei feel asleep right after take off and was asleep for most of the flight. Only "bump" occured when we were descended and Mic's ears started popping. It took me 5 minutes to convince him to chew the Goldfish I kept plying him with...then he fell asleep...and I mean out for the count...on another planet asleep. Thankfully a kindly gentleman carried him off the plane and into a waiting stroller. And the flight attendance carried the car seat. It was so wonderfuly having so many good samaritans around us.
Monday we just lounged around the apartment, 16 stories up...Mic likes the view. On Tuesday, yesterday we went tohe area malls and walked around. Today we are going to the Smithsonian and other museums. Kim is put out that she can't come too.
So far I haven't felt the need to kill any memeber of my family. Kim although needs a good reality check because her pamper lifeis just so hard. Pah! We've been having fun and the kids like the attention.
Although, Mic does think we moved to Virginia. Sorry J, but Lore has only asked for you once...Ithink they are having too much fun. AND Mic has learned NOT to touch the door of the elevator. He got his hand caught in between the door and the wall yesterday...he was a wee bit traumatised and now even folds his hands together when he rides in the elevator. I should make him a T-Shirt that reads: "I survived the Elevator."
