Gold Engraved Invitation has just been send to...

MR. MURPHY!!!! Argh. At the beginning of this eyar we finally got our shit together, we were responsible people...we had a $1000 in our emergency fund, per Dave Ramsey--he calls it a Murphy repellent. HA...it seems like having our fund just sent him an invitation a rolled that red carpet right out our door.

For my women readers out there YOU know the wonderful security that comes with having SAVINGS...it's like being wrapped in a white, comfty blanket. We're SAFE. I had that feeling for about 2 weeks. Then we had a car accident--well that wiped out half of the fund and before we could recover and build it up again POW! a plumbing rebels then again POW! POW! borrowed car that we put hundreds of dollars into suicides. I thought it was over...I thought we had kicked Murphy to the curb...we got a shiny newish van (our dream van with leather seat) for a really good deal. Then we went on vacation...well what happens to our family on vacation?? Yep...Murphy always visits us sometime during our vacation. 500 dollars in hotel bills and car repairs in Opelika, Alabama!! Then a month later 500 dollars in traffic fines!!!

I think I have figured out why I have been so depressed...

Jamey just got transferred to a new deli...it could be a very good thing...it's 2 miles down the street...not the 30 miles...he can even bike or walk to work and leave me the car. Happy happy joy joy!!

I have developed a cynical air this year...is this a good thing...a light at the end of our dark and dank tunnel...or something sinister like wolf in sheeps clothing.

I think it'll be good. I may have a cynical air, but down deep I am an optomist--things always happen for a reason--and we always come out on top.

I think it's the start of something good! ANd just think, what would have happened had you not had the fund in savings? So sometimes Murphy stinks, but at least his stinkiness occurs when you are able to pay for it.
