Oatmeal: the feel good food

As in it feels good mushed between your fingers and it looks marvelous stuck to your face!

And I am sad to report that there has been no miracle of genetics. Micci, too, is tone deaf. Poor dear...just sings his heart out along with the cartoons...and there is just no music in it AT ALL. But I will NOT be the one that tells him he can't sing. Let him enjoy the act of singing and the joy it brings!

I just finished reading, "At knits End: Meditations for Women Who Knit Too Much," by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee...now I really desperately NEED to knit some socks. I need to venture into that unknown territory. The only thing stopping me? 5 size 3 double pointed needles...that's all.

Instead I am starting a mediatation shawl for my upcoming menses. (If I ever ever get them again...9 months of breastfeeding and an IUD and nary a sign) And I plan to give it to Lore when she becomes a woman...something snuggly to curl up under while our uteri convulse.

AND YES! I am already planning on her womanhood ceremony. I have wanted a daughter for years and THIS is why...to teach at least one woman that being a woman is NOT a curse and we're not under some stupid Eve clause!!!

I DID finish my afghan and as soon as I develope the picture of it I'll put it in my finished projects section (when I make that too).
