Bellydancing

Yesterday was J.'s birthday and as a surprise I took him to a Greek restaurant to watch a belly dancing recital. We had lot's of fun. And I know I had a blast. Now I officially want to learn to bellydance. I love the dance, the costumes, the music...It's all so wonderful for the senses.

What is the most amazing is that I was able to keep it a secret from J...for an entire 24 hours period (details were finalised only the day before). I wasn't sure if he'd like it...but I thought it would remind him of his year spent in Egypt. And I know he LOVES hummus. Demos (the restaurant) has a fantastic hummus.

I also thought it would put me in an excellent mood for his special "genius" present later that night.

Smirk.

I also had another ulterior motive...I got to spend some time with Phisto and meet new friend Gina. That was also a blast. And Phisto showed me her new drums...and tapped out a nice beat too. Makes me jealous. I want a drum!! Grin, though she did give me some finger cymbals...gotta start small right? Oh and I am salivating for some of the fabric I saw on those belly dancers.
