I've always wondered what that puckering design that is on the bodices of some little girl dresses, esp. from the 70s. Smocking. It's so cute and sweet on little girl outfits. And thankfully there are some really great websites that give you tips, techniques and patterns. All the books I have found are pricey. I have got to see if I can pleat then smock some outfits for Lorelei.

I have also been measuring and planning all day for the blankets I want to make. A vintage strawberry shortcake bedspread and pillows for Lorelei, a Thomas the Tank engine blanket and pillow for Micci and a Holly Hobbie bedspread and I really want to make pillows, curtains, and anything and everything else for Rachel. I found the motherload of Holly Hobbie fabric at my local craft store...some really pretty things.

But it's gonna be expensive...comparatively...4.99 a yard and I need 6 yards for Lorelei's, 12 yards for Micci's and at least 12 yards for Rachel. Sigh...and add more money for the battling.

I wish money wasn't an issue...I love making things for other people...especially things I know they will love! Mic saw the Thomas fabric and he isn't talking about anything else. He wants to know when or where his Thomas blanket is.
