Gobble Gobble

Everything is nearly ready for the holiday. My meal plan is set and food will be on the table before 4. The house is even clean. It was hell to get to that point though.

Right now it's in the 80s...it was in the low 40s this morning when I went to the dentist. I had to wear my heavy coat and gloves...and I had a turtleneck on under all that. South Texas weather is nutty!

I am starting a new tradition of making Indian pudding for thanksgiving brunch. It's a cornmeal base that has been cooked by women for hundreds of years...damn tasty. In J's family it's tradition to have orange sweet rolls...but given that J will always work on Thanksgiving and the fact that pudding is easier for me to eat right now...this works better for us. I think we'll reserve the orange sweet rolls for christmas.

Phil is on his way to our house now...probably be in near midnight. And my mom has said Craig will make an appearance, if my dad wires him the money in time. I am not sure how much time Craig will spend with us, but it'll be better than nothing. Mic is excited to see Uncle Monkey (that's a nickname for Phil Kimmy taught Mic). It'll be nice to have some family here for Thanksgiving.

I also managed to decorate some for the holiday...made cute turkeys out of our handprints...I need to find a camera for piccies. Along with the thankful chains....it looks real nice. I am a wizard with construction paper. It's Birdy crack!
