New Smile

Well, I got my new smile today. I try not to talk about it much because my smile has been a source of embarrassment. Between family genetics and braces, my teeth were reduced to broken and decayed things. I haven't really smiled with confidence in about 4 years...ever since I got my first "chip" in my front tooth (filling fell out when I was a few months pregnant with Mic). And it was a steep decline after that.

But today...I have a mouthful of beautiful teeth.

And it's WEIRD! I almost look funny (to myself) with a mouthful of straight intact teeth. Yes I got dentures. I got dentures at 28 years old. I need to get over that embarrassment. It's not that I didn't brush--I did. My teeth are like chalk. My grandmother, grandfather, aunt, uncle and mother (all on maternal side) all have dentures. And the braces, not only made it hard to brush to maybe have a chance to safe my teeth, but when they ripped the braces off it took the enamel with it.

But I am HAPPY and nearly confident. I have quite a bit of swelling so I appear to have an overbite...but in a few days it'll get better and better.
