Of Museums and Copulating Plant Life

I should be blogging more. We've been doing all sorts of things so I have plenty to blog about...not always the time however.

But before I go into it...just wanted to take a little time out to mention Widget's passing. P's wee little hamster plunged to his death a few days ago...poor lettle thing. Phisto is grieving and upset--everyone give her cyber hugs...and help he rname her new hamster...a teeny bit bigger Russian Black.

Wednesday we went to D.C. proper and toured the Natural History Museum...making a bee line for the dinosaur exhibit for our resident Mad Dino enthusist. I took a few pics...don't know if they'll actually come out though. Mic feel asleep on our way out and had a tough time of it...the kids' stroller has a bench in the back for Mic to sit on...but when he get's tired there is no place for him to sleep comfortably. So Mic was head bobbing and banging his head on the metal hand grabs. So before we headed out yesterday for the Air and Space Museum my Mom bought a pool noodle and we folded it in half and stuck in in between the hand grabs and voila...a perfect place for Mic to rest--and he only has to duck to it on to the bench.

Anyway to back track a bit...we had loads of fun on Wednesday--Mic was fascinated with all the animals and exhibits. On Friday (Thursday my Mom wanted to recover from Wednesday and clean a bit so we stayed home), we went to the Air and Space Museum...Mic loved the it. We took Kim with us and oh boy I was about to push her in front of the subway car by the end of it....but that is Kim...16 years old but acting like a crabby 8 year old teasing Micci. Mom says the teen angel will return her brain in a few years....not to worry about it. I am just glad I don't live with her.

There's been ups and downs with everyone...nearly wanted to leave at times...but that's my family. We went to the zoo today...saw the Pandas and found Mic's new passion in life...Gorillas. He sat and watched them forever it seemed. I wish I had taken the camera with me into the Ape House because one male gorilla sat right next to the window and it was awesome. So human-like.

Anyway now my feet hurt and I want to lay them up on the couch. Oh we went to the Noodle Co. for dinner...oh my god with was heavenly food. Hmm hmmm. I has some Mushroom Stroganoff and I was in a state of bliss. So good!!

Not only was I not expecting the coolness but my allergies are killing me. I spent the entire time at the zoo with itchy eyes and sneezes coming from the depths of my toes--every couple minutes...and not a tissue in sight. Ick. I am still amazed by the weather...I think I have lived in San Antonio too long.
