Lorelei's Ways

Lorelei is 21 months. (I've been telling people she's 19 months...) She is talking up a storm. J's parent's can understand Lore better than they can understand Micci (I chalk it up to Mic's habit of speaking really fast and Lorelei's high pitch voice). She loves to sing "Winkle, Winkle Little Star" and the tail end of "Ring Around the Posies." She also insists on calling Micci Lorelei. Mic is now out of patience always yells back at her, "My name is Micci!!!" And she is trying to potty train herself. But always seems to miss...but she's working hard at it. I think it's a clever ploy to get out of wearing a diaper.

During the vacation I have been calling her the Nudist Buddist. She doesn't like wearing clothes and is always tearing them off and when she sees you have something to eat, she'll open her mouth wide and chant, "Oum!! OUUMMM!!" until you drop a parcel of food in her mouth.

She also hates loud noises and will scream in terror. She is also afraid of animals not in cages. Yesterday when she walked in the door she saw the cat (I think she forget we had one or hoped it had magically disappeared) and she screamed like she had just seen a werewolf. Freaked out! Today she isn't so scared, but like always she won't go near him.

She is finally growing some hair...all in the back though. It curls around her neck. Still not much on top--hate to say my daughter has mullet. But we got her a cute head band with a kerchief attached to it and it almost hides the mullet look.

She is still a wee thing and I can't believe she'll be two in three months.
