Straweberry Fields Forever

Poteet makes the BEST strawberries. And they had they're annual festival this past weekend. And I had the best chocolate dipped strawberries. But a word to the wise with young kids...NEVER GO IN THE HEAT OF THE DAY. Because it will resemble HELL in all it's incarnations.

Poor Mic was overcome by the heat and noise pretty early one and he turned into a raging ball of mean and hate. I could not reason with this typically reasonable boy. He wanted to go on the rides right then even if they were moving, would not understand that they had to stop. It seemed that he lived in a world where exits were entrances and they're were no height restrictions. Sigh. But I did have some awesome lemonade though.

Lesson for next year...go after 7pm, whenthe heat is one or in the morning before the heat really gets going. Going from 2-7 is the worst!!! Do not do it!!

Luckily my mom came with us. Jamey volunteered at a booth and if I had to take the kids to the fair by myself, I would have lost my head 30 minutes after we got there. Seriously there would have been carnage. And thankfuly Lorelei was in good spirits and was no problem--just insanely curious about everything she saw and was content to watch form the stroller. I also forgot sunblock...and we are all crispy critters...Lore had her visor, but Mic,otherwise known as boy who won't were a hat, has a lobster face.
