Fly away home

This just in: Closing day is on Oct. 4 (one week) and thus my mom is off to Washington D.C. to live. I am at her place now helping her pack. She didn't really expect the closing date to be this soon...she really hasn't packed much. I think I have packed more than she has today....but I've been packing small boxes of books and DVDs.

I am going to miss her though. A far cry from a few years ago....when I would have LOVED to help her pack and move out of the state and out of my life. Now, however, we're on much better terms and much closer. It's going to be weird being all by ourselves and NO family near. And I am going to have to find a babysitter.

The holidays are going to be difficult. But we'll make due and continue with our traditions and making new ones. It'll still be lonely though. On the other hand...maybe not.

Pictures of Lorelei are forth coming...my mom took delicious ones with her digital camera. Unfortunately she is a techno-weenie and instead of sending me the pictures of Lorelei's cake face, she sent me a picture of her game room.
