New Directions
So blogging? Yeah, gotta start being interesting...again (was I ever?).
Right now I am typing this from bed, listening to the rain and trying my damnedest NOT to be sick. I am also trying to think how I can be more interesting. My friends say I write beautifully and am interesting...well they are my friends: they are lovely! But sometimes I think they are very very nice liars. Grin.
I think I am becoming paranoid in my old age, so I am starting to share less and less with the world wide web. So less in fact that I don't write hardly at all and when I do it's mind numbingly boring. Gotta change that. So what have I been up to?
Labour day was awesome, for one. I had myself an old fashion teenage slumber party, with actual real live teenagers!! We stayed up late watching movies and gorging ourselves on chocolate covered popcorn. They introduced me to Mamma Mia. They pulled me up off the couch to dance and sing with them. (Usually I DO NOT sing, because unlike 99% of American Idol contestants-I am FULLY aware that I can not sing.) They promised not to laugh or go all Simon Cowell on me. We had deep philosophical talks and despite the pitiful direction our country is going--I am confident that at least two soon to be adults are sane and just.
It was nice hanging around with two people still innocent without the weight of the world on their shoulders.
Unfortunately I took no pictures of the teenage slumber party...because really is that fair? I like to take the motto: What happens at the slumber party STAYS at the slumber party. Grin.
Also: this week it's been RAINING!! We've had a horrible drought here in S. Texas. Hardly any rain for over a year. Now, it's pouring buckets. Yay! Now last time we had a bad drought, it ended with serious, damaging flooding. Usually this is how it is in Texas...weather extremes: it's either very very dry or very very wet.
I am going to make an effort to be more open and less paranoid. Tell more stories about the kids, the friends, and the life I lead. Not sure I'll get on my soap box...esp. my political soap box. I don't think I have the energy to handle the debate in comments or in my inbox. But I am a lover of the United States, I have a strong military family history, and I believe the US Constitution is the greatest document ever written...it's freed so many and provided a framework for hundreds of other countries' constitutions. So that where my viewpoints are based.
Anything y'all like to see? or read, rather?

I like the kid stories a lot. You do them well and they are fun to read. (From someone who is really behind on blogs due to a lot of work)
