What's Up Doc?

The last days of 2009 and the beginning days of 2010, saw me struck down with the crud. Today is the first day I felt good and able to get off the couch. It's a good thing I decided to make it one of my goals this year to get fit. I usually get sick once a year, not twice in a season. Yuck.

Yeah, so goals. Being me and being raised LDS, I am very goal oriented. We spend 6 years as youth goal setting...lots and lot's of goals. I see them as a great way to get myself progressing as a human being. Swimming with the stream, instead of letting the stream carry me-if you get my drift. Goals gives us purpose and self worth...and lets us work on our rough patches.

I am continuing with my "Get Over It" theme--esp since I feel like I dropped the ball on it midway thru last year. What does "Get Over It" mean? After all goals without outlines and plans are just weak and pointless resolutions. Although I am pretty outgoing I have issues with doing things in front of others. Playing my tin whistle, for instance, speaking to strangers...like vlogging. I also need to get over my oh, I hate cleaning thing and yay I am a hippy with no structure. Yeah, I am a mom now and I need structure. So that plays into my individual set of goals.

Organise my home, family, and life. I am setting daily schedules, meal plans, and rewards. I am going to work with hubby on creating a family budget. I will de-clutter the house and keep it tidy.

I need to CHILL. I have become increasingly high strung. So I need to work on my Inner Birdy. That means more meditating and find what makes me upset and neutralizing them. I am hoping that the organization plans help that.

I need to get fit. We got a Wii Fit for Christmas. And so far I have had two nice work out sessions (spaced in between being sick, bleh) It has kinda turned me into a calorie counter, but I need to ensure I am getting enough calories for the exercise I do--I can't let myself LOSE weight.

I will continue to work on my writing, both non fiction and fiction. This blog used to be funny and interesting...I need to get that back. I am hoping that more writing will encourage me to be more open, less hermity, and more creative.

For the blog, hopefully all this new goals will have the nice side effect here on this blog: content that you actually WANT to read.

Can't Get Rid of Me

I didn't want to end 2009 leaving this blog hanging in limbo. As much as I am going thru spiritually and emotionally; as much as I want to wrap myself in a heavy woolen cloak and hide...it's really not who I am do keep it all inside and private. It's not true to my nature.

Above all else: to thine own self be true.

It's one of my fundamental, core beliefs. And to turn my back on my true nature would be detrimental to me in the long run. So you all have the good fortune to have access to all my blathering for another decade. Grin.

Now, to business. It's the last day of the whole fucking year (and to some the decade--there's minor disagreements if in fact 2010 is the end of the decade). So as I look back how did I do? Well, my main motto was "Get Over It!" I did reasonably well, and then towards the end I kind of lost my mojo and stopped trying to get over anything (this year I felt real fear towards the government and how it was going to affect my future). So 2010 will see me trying some more to Get Over It.

I also need to work on balance in my life, work and family. I let my verve for getting recognistion for my knitting skills over shadow caring for my family. Not that I neglected them, but they weren't high enough on the priority ladder either. So this next year...work on that.

I am also going to try to be a better blogger/writer. God knows I have been doing this for over a decade, I ought to be a pro. But I have let my myriad of issues get in the way. I will work on that.

News: Christmas was awesome. Perfect: relaxing and fufilling-full of my family. Right now though we are sick. It came on suddenly yesterday and has us all moaning on the couch. Van is sick too. But it picked the perfect time (no sarc really)...it dove tails in nicely with Jamey's work for the Army Bowl. So we can get it fixed AND paid for! Micci's in cub scouts; Jamey takes him so it's a fun thing the boys get to do together. Lorelei likes that we get to have a once a week girls night.

I wish everyone a happy and safe New Years! See ya on the flip side!

Inside Mo Dubh Croi

Many years ago I had a dream about a lone tree on a hill and when the wind blew the tree sent white petals fluttering down to dance around me. It was the most wonderful and comforting dream. I think of it often...wondering if the tall tree I had dreamed even exists. Right now, despite years of blogging and sharing, I have little desire to continue. But I can not bear to stop this blogging or close this blog. For the last year, I have wanted to find that tree and hide in it and it's become harder and harder to share like I once did.

So I am at a cross roads while I try to figure this out.

My life is going really well right now...although I am at a cross roads in many things. I am in my thirties such is life. The kids are well and are starting to be really interesting people.

When I really figure out what I am going to do with this blog, I will come back and let it be known.

New Directions

So blogging? Yeah, gotta start being interesting...again (was I ever?).

Right now I am typing this from bed, listening to the rain and trying my damnedest NOT to be sick. I am also trying to think how I can be more interesting. My friends say I write beautifully and am interesting...well they are my friends: they are lovely! But sometimes I think they are very very nice liars. Grin.

I think I am becoming paranoid in my old age, so I am starting to share less and less with the world wide web. So less in fact that I don't write hardly at all and when I do it's mind numbingly boring. Gotta change that. So what have I been up to?

Labour day was awesome, for one. I had myself an old fashion teenage slumber party, with actual real live teenagers!! We stayed up late watching movies and gorging ourselves on chocolate covered popcorn. They introduced me to Mamma Mia. They pulled me up off the couch to dance and sing with them. (Usually I DO NOT sing, because unlike 99% of American Idol contestants-I am FULLY aware that I can not sing.) They promised not to laugh or go all Simon Cowell on me. We had deep philosophical talks and despite the pitiful direction our country is going--I am confident that at least two soon to be adults are sane and just.

It was nice hanging around with two people still innocent without the weight of the world on their shoulders.

Unfortunately I took no pictures of the teenage slumber party...because really is that fair? I like to take the motto: What happens at the slumber party STAYS at the slumber party. Grin.

Also: this week it's been RAINING!! We've had a horrible drought here in S. Texas. Hardly any rain for over a year. Now, it's pouring buckets. Yay! Now last time we had a bad drought, it ended with serious, damaging flooding. Usually this is how it is in Texas...weather extremes: it's either very very dry or very very wet.

I am going to make an effort to be more open and less paranoid. Tell more stories about the kids, the friends, and the life I lead. Not sure I'll get on my soap box...esp. my political soap box. I don't think I have the energy to handle the debate in comments or in my inbox. But I am a lover of the United States, I have a strong military family history, and I believe the US Constitution is the greatest document ever written...it's freed so many and provided a framework for hundreds of other countries' constitutions. So that where my viewpoints are based.

Anything y'all like to see? or read, rather?

Bad Blogger

Once again I have lapsed. Sorry! Life's been busy but again boring. There really hasn't been much to share.

I saw the new Harry Potter movie on Wednesday (sadly not at midnight. Jamey was like SOME of us need to get up for work ya know!) and don't worry no spoilers--although if I have comments feel free to spoil all you want. It was awesome, I think my favourite of all the movies. The actors are older and know their craft. There were times in the earlier films where the kids acted so horribly I wince. I also like how they presented the story on film. The cinematography and editing was great. I do miss the stuff they had to edit out for film compression, as well as the stuff they changed...not to mention the stuff they added that puts a wrench into the later book. I am wondering how much more they have to change now.

My creativity right now feels a little forced. I still want to re-design the blog template--I have a vague idea of what I want, but not sure how to implement it with the software I have. Back when I had my old computer I had MS Photodraw (or something like that) and I LOVE it for editing text with pictures. All my newer fancier photo editors aren't as easy and right now I am not in the mood to fight. I am working on several knitting designs as well...and again it is WORK. I am pulling and pleading at the inspiration to come out of my brain.

I blame the heat. It's been so hot this summer: the temps have been over 100. I do not do well in the heat. It flattens me. And of course our car has no AC. I am sweating like I never before...my Dad would be proud.

I've been trying to aim for my organisation in my life. Hoping it'll help the creativity flow AND help me get the banal things done, as well. We shall see.

I've been spending a lot of time on Plurk. I joined ages ago, but Jamey has gotten hooked and dragged me along as well. Don't mind much, I have found awesome friends there. If ya want to join the fun (many of us are crafters of some sort and quite irreverent), I am of course, BirdysKnits.

I've got some kid pics and stories to share, but I think I'll save that for tomorrow.

Falling of the Edge off the World

Written under the influence of Sting.

Wow! Yeah, I still need to blog. Dude, sorry about that. I kinda fell off the edge of the world didn't I? I guess, I really had nothing to say. Still feeling kinda blah. I have been hard at work for some new Birdy's Knits designs...but still feeling a kind of drag. Was the publication of Flit n Float a fluke? All kinds of self doubt and nuttiness creeping all over me. Other than that I have been doing nothing...really just going through the motions.

Do have some news: the awesome Quimby scored 4 tickets to the U2 concert in Dallas in October. Woot!! I had just about given up hope. And through some amount of persuasion and blackmail: Phisto is flying down from Denver to join us. So the old gang will be together again to cause a ruckus. The fourth is Q's friend--whom I met, briefly--in college? I think. I am still hazy. We ALL know how well my mind works.

I have neglected the Daily Booth, horribly. And right now? I am going through a hair detox and so my hair feel and looks like garage sale barbie hair. Yeah, yuck! By I am told that it'll get better as all the crud I have been using for years works it's way out. So right now, NO PICTURES no way no how.

But I have been taking pictures of the wild flowers that have been blossoming in the yard, thanks to the rain we've been getting.

White Poppy

This has got to be my favourite wild flower (besides violets and bluebonnets). The stem is spiky and terrifying, but the blossom is delicate, big and lovely. A fantastic juxtaposition.

Purty Red Flower

This is another favourite. I have NO clue what it is, but I love it. Mainly because it is red and vibrant. Any one of my lovely, smart readers know what wild flower this is?

Hopefully, I will stay on top of things...and not run off again. I have been thinking of a re-design for the blog. Not sure what...and if it's too much of a change would I also need to re-design the ENTIRE site? Folks, casual readers, it's a HUGE website....with many pages, and categories, and rabbit holes.

I Need To Blog!

This post was written under the influence of Ingrid Michaelson.

So, I am blogging!

It is SPRING! Yes, it has been Spring for weeks now, but I am finally feeling it. For me Spring comes on Easter. That is the marker for me. I am up and cleaning and enthused and...whatever.

Easter is always lowkey at our house...easter baskets and the gorging of chocolate. We didn't dye eggs this year because a certain little boy didn't clean his room (with Mic it's all about the currency--what can we hang over his head to get him to do what WE want--which is mainly KEEP YOUR ROOM CLEAN. I don't mean--spotless--I just want to be able to walk into his room with out killing myself.). But "the Easter Bunny) did hide plastic eggs filled with candy all over the living room. Then for dinner I made French Onion Soup. Yum!

And that was it. Nice and chill.

I am itching to do another video blog. I am excited and all set to record. But, I don't have anything to talk about. So that sucks. I need to make a list of random things to vlog about. Shrug.

I am going to watch a special Dr. Who screening of the two past specials (Christmas and Easter) at The Alamo Drafthouse (30 foot David Tennant--woot!) But it's also the same time (roughly) as the SA Tea Party...and I WANT to go to that!! Unfortunately, Jamey's work schedule is a bitch this week. If he was off, then I would go downtown and show my support of responsible government spending, but I have no way of making it downtown. I do however have a ride to the movies. I am trying not to feel guilty.

I love Spring.

While our drought is NOT over, we have been having some nice rain and some nice weather. Rain didn't come soon enough, though, for the blooming of the blue bonnets. There are some patches around town, but not many and they are sparse when found.

I have a LOT of work to do. A few designs percolating thru my brain; cleaning, and child learnin'. Happy Spring!

Whaz Up!

This post was written under the influence of Sting's Mercury Falling.

Well, not so tired, but busy knitting and not doing much else. My allergies are finally acting up: which was what was making me so tired...I am also having LOT'S of headaches. Oh joy!!

My sister is getting married next week. No one is really happy and the sense of impending doom, looms... No one trusts her fiance and thinks he's abusive and is not good for Kimmy. But there's not much we can do that won't get us arrested.

I've decided to ignore it, like i do with all problems I can't solve. It's better than giving my self an ulcer or worrying the pounds off. But still as much as I am trying to ignore it: it is still in the background, so I worry without realising it and it puts me off. Sigh.

This month marks my first month of blogging nine years ago. (I blogged else where on free sites, but this has been my home since Feb 2000--blog got set up after I built the website) It's a strange thing. Nine years is a long time. Much of my ups and downs and worries and joys have been well documented here. I have a small circle of friends that read: and my audience grows slightly each year. You've done an admirable job ignoring my many typos and grammatical errors and have suffered through my obsessive love of ellipses, parenthesis and dashes. Thanks y'all! The actual date of first blog is April 23, 2000. So who knows I might do something special. Heck I might decide to do some re-designing round here. I haven't changed anything in many many years. I do believe the original template was different, but not by much and this is only the second look this blog has had.

Yeah, I am not a great fan of change. Too lazy. ;-)

I joined facebook and took a more active interest in myspace recently (actually created a background and added stuff)--I (am assuming because I am aging) am feeling the need to re-connect to the past. Every so often I'll look up someone. See what they are up to... Don't know how long this will last: before I run screaming for my Birdy Hermit life. But as a business owner, I do need to network more. I am all about Get Over It '09! Hee hee. Anywho: I am Birdy Evans on facebook and BirdyKnits on myspace.

Crazy Much?

When my computer dyed (edit: died) last year...or whenever (maybe 2007?), I lost my bookmarks and somehow Meg's blog got forgotten (I now keep my bookmarks on yahoo instead of my computer), even though she has been on my side bar (for gee like 8 years), I stopped checking up her blog.

Proper blog word choice is a pet peeve of mine. And Meg lays out a nice table explaining what properly blog nomenclature is. Read it, remember it, and FOLLOW it!!.

Yes, it's not world changing or what have you, but it bugs me and I am glad I am not the only one that is bugged when idiots call everyone on the internet that comments or reads blogs: BLOGGERS!!! Maybe I am biased: I have been doing this for over ten years and I am an old fart.

Toot.

Doppelgangers

Some one, somewhere, said that we all have Doppelgangers. Eh, sounds like an interesting idea, but never saw it, so, whatev (yes, I have been watching WAAAAY too much YouTube featuring folks BORN in the NINTIES (and do you realise that some of them are even ADULTS--dude--that's just weird). But, now I have personally found TWO Doppelgangers that look like my best friend Quimby and now me. So now I can't totally discount the phenomenon.

So Quimby (I may have mentioned this somewhere earlier, but I'll mention again because it's my blog and I can say ANYTHING--and knowing me: I'll say it repeatedly, just to make sure I said it.) has a Doppelganger that is actually right around her age (I do forget how old she is because while she was only 2 years behind me in school is was something of a smarty pants and skipped a grade or two-I say this quite lovingly btw). Okay enough with the asides! Quimby's Doppelganger is Jennie Breeden from The Devil's Panties. It's bizarre! It's not exact because dude that would be freaky, but you see it in the eyes, the hair and especially the smile and well they are both geniuses and it SHINES forth from them. I am also pretty sure Quimby's Doppelganger is shorter than her (which I like because as you know--or may not--I get slightly jealous of the tall people in my life).

My Doppelganger is Tessa otherwise known on YouTube: Meekakitty! (The irony that she is a model is not lost on me: ego me...NEVER!) Jamey found her (because he has a minor obsession with YouTube and always finds the strangest, neatest and most bizarre people/videos) and he said, Gee she LOOKS like you and she even makes the same annoying sounds. So if you ever wonder what I sound like: I sound and act like her. Hyper, random, and always loosing the train of thought. My eyes are lighter than hers, but we both have the long red hair and elfish face (but I HAVE the elfish ears-grin) oh and somehow she's ten million times more photogenic than I am. Oh wait: I don't usually post pictures of me on this blog (there is a reason, read the previous sentence), but I do have two places...my Twitter (follow me!) and MySpace. Oh and if I am off my rocker--comment me! Or if I am not, still!, comment me.

All we need to do know is find Phisto's Doppelganger. She's out there somewhere! It'll be hard to find I think because of the AWESOMENESS of Phisto.

Because my husbands minor obsession with YouTube: he shows me all cream of the videos he finds and all I can say is this. I am SO glad that YouTube was not around when I was in Highschool: I would not have graduated. I would have spent my entire life making videos. I am also glad YouTube was not around when I was in Austin (One and Two), because OM MY GOD, while it would have been highly entertaining it would also be very embarrassing to have actual records of "what is was" up on the internet, FOREVER! Imagine: the Night of the Many Scarves posted in perpetuity?! I can already hear Quimby scream, "Gods NO!!!!!" Now I can't deny that the thought of adding a video blog now isn't a fascinating concept right now. You know I have a little blog addiction: adding a video blog would be fun. AND I wouldn't have to worry about spelling or typos!! Woot! But, there are SO MANY "buts"--like the stammer. Ick. I can hardly stand to hear my self do it never mind having to WATCH myself stammer. However, I do not stammer when I talk to myself or when I talk to the mirror (I do talk shows in the mirror--grin). I could just pretend that I am talking to myself--which may be a fact since I do get so few visitors to my blog--smile) But the few that I do get-are my friends--some whom haven't talked to me in ages,...or in the example of Michelle form Down Under--NEVER and I have known her for OVER ten years.

So, I may do one, just for Michelle.

Yeah, I would have to do something with my hair (and get dressed)--and some make up--and a clean backdrop (unless you want to see the Sharpie creations on my walls???)

Feeling Down

I am loving Plinky. Right now it's allowing me to blog while ignoring my increasing desire to run away and find a large hollow tree to live out my days in. So it goes, right?

But, the blog can't subsist on just Plinky.

Well, maybe if we feed it bacon...

Grin.

Today Jamey had the day off, so we did errands and ate horrible food at Denny's. Ugh, seriously don't get steak at Denny's just don't. I think I may be getting sick. The mountain cedar allergies had a while back, are finally catching up to me. I can FEEEEL a sinus infection coming on. And tomorrow might suck major goopy, icky snot.

But, ya know what: I bet CNN would go down a treat!

Seriously, I may have to go back to Plinky if this achy heavy head turns into the fountain of snot that it's threatening to.

Look at me Ma! I'm Plinking!

I found this new "thing" today (I am not sure what to call it: social network, blogging service, place to blather??). Plinky.

They have prompts and you get to answer.

Simple. And, it helps me come up with blog fodder when the well runs dry. I used to play around with Vox for a time because they had a prompt format. But I got tired of trying to blog in a variety of platforms. Plinky posts my answers both on their website AND my blog. Easy peasy and I got content! Woot!

What's going on??

No I am NOT dead. Nor is my house immaculately clean.

I've just been very very quiet. As you can tell from my two previous posts I haven't felt very chatty or revealing. As my best friend Anne told me when I was whinging to her..."Honey it's your time of the YEAR!" Yeah, she hit the nail on the head square on. This time of year rattles me and makes me all titchy and dare I saw it witchy (so to speak). It's hard to communicate this on my blog, because well only people I know read this: my in laws, my mother, my best friends (but hey if your a stranger reading this give me a heads up!). I think I have always been afraid to share the real me with those I love....well, it has always ended badly. I thought perhaps I should go to the Confession (secret) blog for that....no hurt for the Birdy right?

But...honestly. Those that love me will love me for always and if they don't ... they have their own brand of problems.

This summer has been a roller coaster ride for me emotionally...thankfully, I never got off of the ride (see coasters are perfectly safe, as long as you don't jump off mid-ride)--but it was a harrowing experience nonetheless. I won't going into details but let's just say it left me raw, wanting to find a hallow tree to live my hermit life. It left me feeling so alone and different that I ached. It's hard to translate these feelings into words, into a blog, to throw them into the world ready to be torn apart and reconstructed and misused.

I was also told this summer that I wasn't who they thought I was (perhaps that's should be--WTF?!). I was also ,by someone else, accused of being a puppet (hello insulting, someone thinks I am that weak willed and mouldable?) It hurt because I thought this person knew me, perhaps was trying to understand me but no. I had "failed" her because I had changed--I think it was more like I wasn't living up to the picture she painted of me. It really fucked with my head for a while, until I understood it wasn't me; it was her and her damned picture of me.

It's my life's mission to be understood, known, and to be told, "No silly you are not so alone," I have to blog, to write. What has stood permanently on my blog is what I really am. Dubh Croi is what I am and "these words I write keep me from total madness." Because folks, I pirouette on the shining edge of madness every day.

Hell my life mission is that someday I will understand what I am.

So that explains the twitchy...

We (birdwellproductions.com) were here!!

Google in celebration of it's tenth anniversary, let's you search their oldest index. And birdwellproductions.com was here!

Pretty cool...my blog is ten years old. One of the very first, and one of the oldest.

Thanks for the heads up Jason.

All Blowed Up

Sorry for the outage this weekend (and Monday). There was a "wee" problem at our hosting site: one of their transformers blew and while there was no damage done to the data, they were without power. Fun fun. Good thing I don't depend on this site for any sort of income. Hopefully my dozen readers come back.

On to news from the weekend. Micci is growing up and has his first loose tooth. Woot! My sister, Kim, is just days away from her "visit." This visit hopefully will lead to her permanently moving down here. (San Antonio is an easier place to become independent than D.C.) The kids are super excited about her visit. For my part: it will very very interesting and I am sure will create all sorts of blog fodder.

We all saw Prince Caspian yesterday. Great movie. And of course it inspired me to start the next book, Voyage of the Dawn Treader. For some reason, it is much more interesting now than it was a years ago when I tried reading it. Shrug.

And better news: I haven't bought diapers in WEEKS!! Woot! And if we do have more kids, I am doing cloth. I am tired of the waste of diapers, not to mention the expense. Lori isn't completely potty trained--she still has accidents every day, but those are out numbered by successful visits to the potty. Woot woot!

On being Concise

I am enjoying Twitter. It's an exercise in being concise and witty. (Because all the popular blog kids are...) But I found out that J.'s cell phone can't twitter--poot (it's the cell phone I'll inherit when/if we upgrade). Now even more than ever I am jonesing for an iPhone, or a Treo, or Blackberry. I am much more witty when I am doing errands. Yes, I ought to jot it down in my notebook--but dang it I lost it...I actually bought a new one with bees on it and everything. I don't think it ever made it out of the shopping bag before I misplaced it.

For those of you that don't also read my knitting blog, Birdy's Knits, I have opened up a booth at a local craft mall (to get real world sales in addition to my shop's sales.) about two months ago. Sold nothing until I checked yesterday, sold TWO swiffer cloths! Woot! Now if I could just sell the other pretty things...I'd be even more stoked. Putting yourself out creatively is such a ballsy, naked move. You are asking complete strangers to like things you have created. It's incredibly difficult not to take it to heart and wonder what is the point? But you know me: Birdwell has an ego and although a small part is disheartened--between the ego and the optimism--I'm confident I'll be famouz one of these days. Grin. The occasional sale helps too. Luckily, my dual use stitch markers (they double as earrings too) are burning up in my knitting circle. I feel like a crack dealer for knitters. Yeah sparkling pretty things for your knitting is knitting crack. Heck at the retreat, I was doing deals in the street!

LOL, I just realised I was supposed to be extolling the virtues of being concise. Yes, once again the wordy bastard in me ran all over this blog once again. Well I have twitter for being concise and Dubh Croi for being wordy.

Such a joiner!

So finally--I too am tweeting. I heard about it last year. Checked it out--eh I don't have a cell phone, not into chatting and really can I Birdwell possibly limit myself to a mere 140 characters?? Phisto, Quimby: laugh_it _up! Well, I think I am ready. Ha! I may even take over Jamey's cell when we are out and about (which may be coming to me soon if we get a new phone service)--yeah yeah me one of the last people in the free world with no cell phone.

I also like it because it's all bird-like and how can I stay away from that for any length of time?

Wanna follow me? Birdy's Tweets on Twitter and on her various blogs.

Anniversary!!

I am terrible with anniversaries--I always forget them--even my own--especially my own.

But today it's special--it has been exactly 8 years since I started blogging with blogger. I had actually started journaling in November two years before when it was a "web geek" thing. And now ten years later---there's are millions of blogs and the word "blog" in every one's vocab. It has certainly changed since I first started. Back then a blog and a diary weren't the same thing. A blog was a collection of links with a personal anecdotes relating to those links. It took me a few months after Blogger started (I was very aware when it did because all my "blog" reads were all talking about it), but I was like I journal, I don't blog. But Blogger and things like it are awesome tools to do SO MANY things. So I joined and have weathered Bloggers ups and downs and sale to Google.

I have chronicled everything here....from car accidents, my first and only love and the trials of pregnancy, child birth and child rearing. Sometimes I haven't been completely on top of things, and my writing hasn't blossomed like I had hoped it would (kids are a great time suck). But I want to thank my wonderful loyal readers--all ten of you!!--who have stuck with me for 8 years.

Thank you Caroline who inspired me to start blogging and to Jason and Derek for keeping me interested.

Source of Wicked Laughter

In this house it means Lorelei is chucking things out of bins or closets to make a royal mess! This to her is funny--making a mess--just to make a mess.

Bhat bhat BHAT!

And apparently when I use the word "PMS" in my knitting blog the ads that pop up are not the sort I would invite or expect on a knitting blog. Argh. SO now it's "The Mood"--da DUM!!!

Back to Normal

Finally got the server issues worked out over at Birdy's Knits. Whew! Luckily people are there over the weekend to fix this stuff.

My brother is here again...now all ties are finally severed from his ex-wife and doesn't have to worry about her not making car payments. Yea! I also fixed his sweater...as much as I could. Looks good.

My sock is well...I ripped and ripped...and I've re-knitted about three increase rows. Maybe I'll finish it someday. LOL Anyhoo--all knitting can get whooshed back to Birdy's Knits. And this blog can get back to poking fun at my mom, my kids, my husband, and my life.

Smirk.
