Monday Muddle
When I need chocolate I make myself Texas Brownies. It's a fantastic recipe made on a jelly roll pan (what I call a lipped cookie pan) so it's a big ass brownie, with added coffee to make the chocolate punch AND a wonderful chocolate frosting that you pour over the brownie right as it comes out of the oven...so the frosting melts INTO the brownie. Best thing on earth.
Well, I was making the thing...and realised not 30 minutes ago that I have no VANILLA!!! Of course, I am at the point where I needed to ADD the vanilla. Thonk! So I call my mom...guess what she's not answering her cell and she has YET to give me her new home number for the condo. I rummage around my cabinets some more. I have a bottle of hazelnut flavoured syrup...the kind you pour into soda water to make flavoured sodas. So I add that.
The brownies are done and iced (added the syrup to the frosting as well) and still very hot so I can't try them. The batter tasted okay--definately a hazelnut deminsion. Who knows this may become a new recipe.
And to add to the muddle: I realised AFTER the baked the thing that I used the pan I usually use when making my Creamy Roasted Potatoes with Chicken which is what's for dinner.
I have one other smaller pan--but I like to use the big one. And I do have at least 6 more pans, but they are being held hostage in the garage freezer behind a ton of junk and assorted garage type items. Eventually we'll have that garage sale.
Today was not all bad...I didn't scream at the kids or stumble through the house exhausted. And at no point did any child turn herself into a buttery, sparkly sticky mess like on Saturday.
Off to make aforementioned dinner.

Please, do not throw out, garage sale the Christmas decorations I made for the house in Helotes. The lollipops, ginger bread boys and candycanes. If you dont want them I will take them back. I know the grandkids would enjoy them at Christmas time on your lawn. I made then so that they could enjoy them. love you
