Big Weekend

Phil is being deployed Thursday to Afghanistan. So his wedding is being put off and I am getting custody of his car. I don't know if it has really hit me that he is going to a warzone. I am not worried...after all he isn't the brother I saw die. (I am not entirely sure I wasn't in hysterics 10 years ago or not--but it certainly scared me shitless). Now though I am getting a little choked up...both my my baby brothers are far far away. Craig in South Korea. Phil in Afghanistan.

The Oscars are tonight. I don't really care. I used to...but these past few years...I practically miss them. Heck I used to have Oscars parties and Oscar was my bog dream night--because someday I was going to get one. Now...it's no big deal. I let go of my dream. I found another one. But still it is kinda sad.

On a happier note: I discovered a new flavour of ice cream that is to DIE for. The Gobfather by Ben and Jerry...wow. Chocolate ice cream with fudge covered almonds (YUM) and a HUGE swirl of nougat. I love nougat. Delish. Sometimes when life puts ont he squeeze...ice cream can make it all better.

I also feel guilty...because I got what I wanted. A delay on Phil's wedding...(I do want him to marry Ashley because she is a awesome gal--I just want her to get a bit more life experience) and an extra car, so I am not housebound. It's humbling. Phil is going to war.

Phil and Ashley drove from Louisiana and said the night Friday, spent the Day and night Saturday and left this morning. It was fun. It was great finally getting to meet Ashley. She's a great gal. I wish though she didn't live in LA...it would be nice if she was closer and we could support each other while Phil is gone.
