My lovely week so far
Today the sarcastic word of the day is "lovely."
All week I have been dealing with the fall out of P & A's visit over the weekend. I found out right as they were leaving--because i have eyes and can count--that A used 2 rolls of toilet paper while she was here....all in about a 12 hour period. Now my TP aint that kind you see at the mall...thin and icky can't aborb a drop of any thing...no...I got the good stuff...a double roll of cottonelle with ripples...nice and absorbant. I also realised that she flushed a maxi pad down the toilet as well. Yeah...we haven't been able to use any of our plumbing since Sunday. I washed clothes and I got sewage back up in my bathroom (which of course flowed into my bedroom)....and in all tubs and the washing machine pipes as well.
Being do-it-yourselfers we snaked and let the pipes rest....hoping it would all magically go away. But no...our pipes do not lead to Neverneverland (like some might think)--2 rolls of TP and sanitary pads do not just disappear. I haven't been able to do any laundry or dishes or really use the toilet. So last night J broke down and told me, "Call the plumber in the morning."
All fixed--for now...we did find out in addition to all the clogs...we do have a pipe that needs some repair...so we are gonna save up for a camera to look see the pipes and all that. We also found out we need to get a water pressure regulator...about 400 bucks because the city is giving up WAAAY too much water at one time.
Oh and on Monday...after a really bad day of having to wrangle children and vacuum up sewage, I got a ticket on the way to get dinner (no way was I in the mood to cook)--stupid inspection and registration stickers were expired and we finally got caught. I was sobbing. It just sent me over the edge...between the car accident, Phil being deployed, the plumbing and the kids and THAT on top of it all. I was just sick...I nearly threw up I was so overwhelmed.
Thank god I got my knitting to keep me sane. I am working on the Aran sweater again. I bought some wool sweaters from Texas Thrift for 99 cents a piece. I am planning on unraveling them and using the yarn for something. One of the sweaters, a vest, is 100% Shetland Wool, a fingering weight...I am gonna make me a lace shawl. The other sweater is a beautiful red wool...it's gonna be a joy to knit with. I bought cardigan I am actually going to wear...cause it's that cute. I took pics, but I am in no mood to edit them for the web. I need to for some of the Spring Sweater I made for Lorelei--I need to bind off with bigger needles so it'll sit right. But that is on the back burner...I am in no mood for that either.
We take the car in to the body shop next Monday...they'll put it up on the rack and tell us if they think we need to take it to a mechanic to fix the under carriage. And I know we have to...because it's beginning to wobble and vibrate baad when we drive it. J took Phil's car he is so worried about the car's drivablity.
I really hope this week gets better...I need a few good days.
