Escape to Austin
Yesterday Z. and I went to a Knit Out in Austin at a Borders Bookstore. I had so much fun...8 hours just knitting and gabbing. AND we went to the Dog and Duck Pub for lunch...oh I have missed the hamburgers...as good as I remember them...if not a wee bit more expensive.
I got new yarn and a gift certificate--hahaha another road trip (as the yarn shop is in Lakeview). I finished seaming the second teddy bear sweater. And I finally finished the pattern all I need to do is figure out how I am going to put it up for sale on the site.
Thank you for all the kind words and encouragement about my numbing frustrations. I'm going to the doc next week for all sorts of blood tests...but I am so happy for this blog despite pundits that think blogs are the tool of Satan I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have an outlet.
When I came home last night from Austin the kids rushed me like hungry wolves. It's good to feel loved. Grin.
Speaking of feeling loved, I found the new U2 books , U2 by U2, at the Borders. Yeah it's so on my wishlist. I had a very nice moment or two looking at pictures, reading a bit, and lovingly stroking the book. I was a very good girl and didn't buy it right then (oh I wanted to), but we got bills to pay!!
I also found out about a really neat organisation called Project Linus. They supply hand made blankets to children of all ages up to 18 that are going through rough times and need the comfort of a blanket. Since I love knitting up blankets it's right up my alley. What's neat is that they can be any sort of homemade blanket...buy some fleece, friend the ends, or embroider the edges and poof you got a nice comfty homemade blanket. I am nearly finished with my latest blanket, Tulip Lace Blanket, it'll be a nice donation.
I haven't done much in the house today--but I am getting alot of patterns done and up on the knitting site. At least it's something. Although laundry is definately calling my name.
