Stitching and Bitching

Unless you are a knitter and spend time online or in real life with knitters then what I am about to rant about you: 1 Don't know about and 2 Don't care about.

Apparently if you use the popular phrase "Stitch 'N Bitch" or any of it's incarnations: SNB or snb you are violating a trademark by Sew Fast/So Easy's which uses Stitch And Bitch for it's internet cafe of sewers. And they will hunt you down and shot you. So the Debbie Stoller, they gal that made Stitch 'N Bitch popular with her series of knitting books is getting sued and she is suing back and it's a mess for the little people that sit around knitting with each other calling their little groups Stitch 'N Bitch or SNB which is easier to type. No one is making money (expect Debbi), we just sit and knit. And it is getting ugly here in the knitting internet. People who run mailing lists for these little groups are getting cease and desist letters for merely mentioning stitch n bitch or even SNB on their home pages. These folks have already found new names for themselves besides snb_sa (like the one I belonged to) or the like. Now they are getting flak just for using three little words in their pages--next it'll be email.

It's really insane and it's making me mad. Here are some good sources to get the news if this piques your interest. Stitch 'N Bitch, and Auntie who knows alla dn understands all. And a great boycotting site that says fuck SFSE and its little dog too.

Meanwhile our group changed it's name from SA-SNB and to StitchingSA and STILL got hounded to change our designation and content. Sigh.
