It touched my driveway at 10.30 am CST and was put in it's puttin' place at 10.31 am!!! Woot!!!! About 30 minutes later, after I took pictures and plurked and emailed everyone my excitement, I loaded it with underwear-breaking it in nicely.
Lorelei tried to share my excitement she really did, but let's face it she's five, "It looks the same! This is dumb; I am going back to bed." She doesn't get grown ups.
But look at all the dials and OPTIONS!!
Last one only had Delicate, Normal, and Heavy Duty. Hot or Cold wash. Water level. I am dizzy with options!! So excited to have done laundry IN MY OWN house with dirty unwashed hair!! No getting dressed up to go to the laundry mat!! No carrying 8 baskets of laundry in and out of the car!!! Yay whoooooo!!!
Lorelei WAS excited, though, at being able to help me do laundry again. We got three loads done today. I've got like 6 more to do. But I will spread that out a bit. Don't want to break my new baby, um erm machine...
Last night, I was so excited about my washer, I hardly slept a wink--tossed and turned and had weird dreams. Had yet another weird famouz blogger dream, so this brings the total up to FIVE! Three with Dooce and now two with Derek Powazek. So strange...I didn't even read his blog before I went to bed (okay I read his wife's). But I went to bed thinking of something TOTALLY different (and boyo would it have been a MUCH better dream if it had been starring Asher). What's weird, is that all my famouz blogger dreams are weird day in the life dreams. I just happen to be at their house talking to them about random every day things. All I am waiting for now is my dream about Jason Kottke or Laurell K. Hamilton (although THAT would be an AWESOME dream). We could totally compare notes on our love of long haired men...hee hee.
This post was written under the influence of The Killers.
Happy July, y'all! It's been a hectic few days. I had planned on blogging yesterday but hubster took my camera to work...I needed pictures from it AND needed to take pictures for the blog. Oh well, so it goes.
Speaking of that! A few days after we got back from vacation our washer broke. Not good when I am still trying to wash vacation dirtiness. SIGH. It is seven years old and it was a cheap washer BUT STILL. NOT a good time for it to decide to spew water all over my garage. We're hoping we can fix it ourselves...I doubt it would be worth repairing (not to mention the Herculean task of cleaning the garage so a repair man could come in and if we DO need a new washer we still need to clean the garage). Yes there is a theme...we need to get the garage cleaned up regardless (Mom, I can hear you nodding/yelling, stop it!)
Jamey's sunburned knee started peeling the other night. Oh bliss. (Yes, I am a weird monkey that enjoys skin picking and various other weird things). I was able to pull the skin off in ONE 4 inch sheet. It was so cool. So cool in fact, that naturally, I took pictures.
Ya gotta admit that IS cool.
Poor Micci is turning into a toothless wonder...ah the joys of childhood. I think he looks adorable. (Him, well he isn't the happiest, but he's enjoy the tooth fairies dollars)
He's got one more loose tooth on the other side of his two middle bottom teeth (those are perms). I am looking at his wee mouth and those big teeth and I am HOPING that orthodontics aren't in his future. Grow Micci GROW!!
I have been ruminating on a new blog redesign. I still want to stick with the Girl With A Pearl Earring--it's been the theme of my website for over ten years now. But I am missing my old graphics software I used last time I did a major redesign. I am not 100% sure what I am going to do...but it'll be different? Eh. I am also kinda feeling un-inspired. Which is terrible since most of my job/work is creative. It's making me feel quite deflated.
Not quite the singing (since I can't), but the birdy exploding? I am t-minus ANY SECOND from being that bird. Lorelei already told me to stop screaming.
Why? Because today, I am famouz (grin). Spring Knitty is live and Knitty is a wildly popular on line knitting magazine and one of MY patterns is in it. Woot!
I am beyond excited and thrilled. I have been bouncy for over a month and today, I am Tigger.
While I am conquering my fear of speaking and since I loved video blogging so much I decided to get over my fear/issue of being photographed. I just DON'T photograph well. But I need to get over it. I think this is my mission and or theme for 2009: Get Over It!!
I decided to join Daily Booth. It's a sort of social networking site...sorta...the goal is to take a daily picture of yourself--most do it through webcams--I don't have one--but you can upload a piccie from your digi camera. So I am doing that! Here's Me!. If any thing I will learn how to pose properly when other's take pics of me; in any case I will totally learn to take rocking self portraits. I know that project 365 has rocked flickr. But I really like the concept of Daily Booth.
Oh and that hat? It's my new go to Birdwell hat. I bought it Tuesday when I bought the new U2 album. It's a kicking hat--a teeny bit big, but then again my head is like the Tardis: small on the outside; bigger on the inside. Smirk.
I will be updating (or TRYING to) my Daily Booth every day, and I'll post the better pictures...because dude some will look like that first one I took at 1 am. Shudder.
I think all the things I am doing will give me the extra boost of confidence I need. Hmm, not so much a boost, as a better foundation of confidence. As I work on my career as a creative type, I need to loss my insecurities...
Now picture snoopy doing his happy dance. THAT is what I look like and feel like. Me so happy! I am not ashamed to say it I feel vindication for all the hours, days, weeks and months (surely it added up thusly) of the babysitting I did free of charge for my parents in their heyday of Amway Bliss (I was promised I would reap the reward when they walked the stage as Diamonds or whatever gem is top level). Well it never paid out (panned out, whatever), not that I am bitter (okay only slightly). But when baby sister Kim got a laptop for doing absolutely nothing and being an ungrateful brat on top of that (whereas the brothers got laptops for deployment), I made some noise and blessfully, lovingly my parents got me a beautious Dell Inspiron. Woot!
Ees so pretty.
I will be taking pictures--if I can find some good light to do so. I also need help naming my new technology. Q, P: time to step up the bat. (I have long drooled over their laptops--when they were all shiny and new and marvelous back in the late 90's).
Even though my current obession with vampire novels is quite, ahem marked, I WILL not be naming my laptop after one. Hmmm...maybe something Dr. Whoish. I am quite tempted to call it David--but that...well it could be wrong on SO_MANY_LEVELS. Smirk. No, I really can't call it David, can I?
